So Daffy-down-dilly Confectioners is now in it’s third year of trading as an Award Winning sweet shop and online sweet shop.

Fancy a bit of background reading as to why we started our beautiful sweet shop and subsequent online sweet shop? Read on my friends…

After a particularly dark and destructive divorce, my children and I were left with nothing, and I mean nothing… I know I’m not alone and currently several of my friends are going through difficult separations – I hope this helps you guys.

Perhaps most painful was my lack of self belief and inability to see a better future for my children.

Enter my brilliant Mum and Dad stage left!

So my parents gave me the motivation and incentive to start again, to begin building an exciting and sustainable future. And Daffy-down-dilly Confectioners was born.

We opened our Sidmouth shop in April 2014 to huge community support (thank you Sidmouth!).

And from the beginning it was clear that this was the business for me! Smiling customers who love what we do and our carefully sourced sweets and candies made each day a positive experience that helped me to rebuild my life.

I have loved collecting the very best in retro sweets, traditional sweets, American candy and chocolate and modern sweets and candies to ensure that every visitor to our shop has a ‘wow’ experience…after all, who doesn’t love sweets? For those unable to get to our destination sweet shop in Sidmouth, Devon, we’re really proud of our online sweet shop which offers the opportunity to buy sweets online with National postage available. All online sweet orders over the value of £30 also benefit from FREE delivery! Fantastic – yes!!

So a few years on, I am proud to say that yes, I am capable of building and running a successful business and I love it! I am lucky enough to have the best support from outstanding staff, family and friends and wouldn’t underestimate the importance of this, but you know what, go ladies…
