Award winning sweet shop DaffyDownDilly has been named as Sweet Shop of the Year (Devon) by Acquisition International (AI).
Here at DaffyDownDilly, we really don’t like to blow our own trumpets (or “toot our own horns”, as the Americans say). But we would still like to let you know about our award in our very understated, peculiarly British way. So we won’t be advertising it with bells on and getting some T-shirts printed, or shouting it from the rooftops. But we will be patting ourselves on the head ever so slightly and putting this tiny little blog post onto our website. We might even add “award winning sweet shop” to the website whilst we’re at it. And maybe we’ll have some tea and cake round the kitchen table. But we wouldn’t want to go overboard.
Some of the factors that AI look at when deciding on the awards are client centricity, expertise, dynamism, and an outlook towards innovation. So we are absolutely thrilled that the values that we pride ourselves on are being recognised in this way.
These awards look for businesses that have excelled in their industry. There’s a lot of competition out there, so being named Sweet Shop of the Year is quite some achievement. AI described the current business environment as more uncertain than ever, commending business owners who have “battled, persevered and coped with unprecedented change”. It’s certainly felt like that at times, but we love what we do and we love making our customers happy. That’s what keeps us innovating and working tirelessly to provide you with all your sweet shop favourites.
